Still Working On Getting New PCA Hours Evaluation
The hours were extended (and cut a little) until the end of February. Had a meeting with Donna and Lewis from Tri-Valley on the 14th of January. I told Lewis I still hadn’t heard from the nurse about evaluating him for his hours. He said he’d contact that department, check back with him on the Friday (17th). I called him, left a message. Still didn’t hear back from him by the 22nd. I called him again, left a message. He called me back and said he needed to check with the nurse. He checked, called me back.
The head nurse never got notification that Nick’s insurance changed. Apparently, this is something that his old insurance is supposed to do. Lewis knew it changed. His old skills trainer that I called and spoke with in November knew it was changing. I don’t know why that didn’t get passed along, but it didn’t. The nurse said that I’d get a call in the next couple of weeks to set up an appointment for an evaluation. That’s cutting it very close to the end of February considering the nurse will have to do paperwork and submit it to insurance, then we have to wait for insurance approval. Lewis said if it comes down to it, they can file for an extension. Not 100% confident about that since I’ve been telling Tri-Valley since NOVEMBER that Nick’s insurance was changing as of December 1st. I called on December 11 and again on the 17th. I don’t know what the fuck more I can do to get this done. I was polite to Lewis, but stressed to him that I was getting very uneasy about Nick having a lapse in PCA hours. He said to call back this Friday (23rd) so he can call the head nurse again to keep it on the top of her mind.
