Need New Primary Physician or Need to Change Insurance

Nick received a letter in the mail from UMASS Memorial Health. They will no longer be participating with Nick’s insurance, Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA) OneCare as of December 31, 2024. So I need to find Nick a new primary care doctor or change his insurance. PCP are difficult to find today, and they’re booking out pretty far if they accept new patients.

Looking at the Yelp reviews for CCA, I plan to see if Medicare/Medicaid will cover all of his meds (in December I was told that they wouldn’t, that’s why they switched him to CCA). I’ll wait until Nick receives his new wheelchair though, because CCA paid for the new seat molding, a CCA physical therapist is the one coordinating everything and will check to see that the new seat fits properly. Hopefully, it will come in next month.
