Calling National Seating and Mobility, 833-289-1020, to check the status of Nick’s new wheelchair. Status: Insurance approved. Placed an order on Monday. She figured it should be ready by mid-August.
She said that insurance does not pay for repairs on an old wheelchair even though the new chair’s cushions have been wrong since day one, even though it’s been a year since he got the new wheelchair and he’s been sitting in his old wheelchair. I’m calling CCA OneCare to see what can be done about this.
7/25/24 Called National Seating and Mobility to check on the status of Nick’s wheelchair. Had to leave a message. – They called back. Work is scheduled to be done on August 2nd. The therapist is supposed to be calling me to schedule an appointment to bring Nick to get the wheelchair with the therapist present.
7/26/24 I called Wendy? Heather?, 857-409-8104, the therapist who works for Nick’s insurance who is coordinating everything for his new wheelchair. She didn’t answer, so I left a message asking her to call me back so that we could schedule a day to pick up Nick’s new wheelchair.
7/30/24 Wendy called. The wheelchair is scheduled to be put together on August 2nd. She will call early next week to schedule an appointment to have her evaluate Nick in the new wheelchair. We need to go to Southborough to do this. I’ll have to make two trips. One with Nick, and one to pick up the new wheelchair.
